Blackwater, and the other 'merc' groups, under our employ, for handsome wages, are nothing more than another Insurgent/Terrorist Group in Iraq and beyond. the first part is a clip of an earlier NBC report, listen to what this man says, for he isn't only talkin about blackwater!
Everytime they do something that is an Atrosity or even Borders On, they put Our Military Troops, and our security, in Greater Danger, for Every Action has a Reaction especially in Retaliation!
It's not even the money!

This ought to be an interesting, and well needed, fun event. It makes me wonder if there will be some well needed Public Sparks flying. Just looking at the cast of characters performing and the cast of characters sitting on the committee's one wonders if this somehow can bring about a togetherness that is greatly needed in this country. Will the closeness of the deverse ideologies bring about Common Sense and Real Conversation about the Realities we now live in? Will minds be changed? Will Real Support, and not just empty words, be spoken and understood? Will Real Representation come back to the People? Will life go on as it is now, after this event?
As a Veteran I know there probably will be many questions in the Veteran's Community, for I had them popping in my head as I read about this event.
Why is there such a need for this event, or any like it, being held to Support our Wounded and looking for funds to Support them and their families?
What if Bob Woodruff, or someone as prominant and having such damaging wounds, hadn't been so unlucky In-Theater, would others just take up this cause?
Why is there an extreme need for these types of events, most of those performing, hosting, and chairing this event are benefiting nicely from the huge taxcuts they received?
Where is the Sacrifice of the rest of the country, is just pulling out their wallets and giving a couple of bucks, than saying they "Support The Troops" enough?
Why is it this Country Cheers on Wars, like some sort of sporting event, which are Unnecessary, Tragic, and in most cases Illegal Conflicts {built on lies and supported on same}, than refuse to Honor the Contracts and Oaths of those they send into these Hells on Earth, which totally destroy the peoples lives, countries, cultures of those we wage them on?
There are, and have been, many more questions rolling through my little mind, as there are for most. Many of them are questions that shouldn't even exist, the answers should have been a part of this countries makeup and ideology if we really are a leading Nation of Example!
I Strongly Commend Bob and Lee Woodruff, for they Truely Recognize the Important Need, but that Need should not even exsist, and yet it does, and has, for Most Who Honorably Serve This Nation, Right or Wrong!!!!
So untill this Nation "Really Does Support" I ask you Support Bob and Lee and all the others that Really Recognize That Need, and Support what this country Really should be, not what we like to think and say it is, in our Arrogance and Apathy towards others!!!!

Sharpton, who helped organize the protest, met Bell at the courthouse Wednesday morning. He said Bell is heartened by the show of support and wants to make sure it stays peaceful.
"He doesn't want anything done that would disparage his name—no violence, not even a negative word," Sharpton said.
One of many We and other so called 1st World Countries do, Fail to follow through on our Word! Not Leading By Example, while condemning others for similar!

The people{?} Who Assaulted a Gold Star Father on September 15th
Lets take a look first at apparently how we All should act if we are 'Patriotic', really 'Support The Troops' { meaning anything a dictator, we hire, says or wants we the citizens MUST not question it's policies, and only send others sons and daughters to carry out those policies of force! } and be 'True Americans'.
Here are photos of members of "Gathering of Eagles" who assaulted gold star father Carlos Arredondo in broad daylight in front of many police officers in Washington, D.C., on September 15, 2007, throwing him to the ground and kicking him.
Carlos Arredondo, 47 year old father of two sons, arrived in the nation's capitol on Monday, 09/10/07 to share a memorial he has made to honor for his eldest son, Alex. Carlos has visited thirty of the United States with the traveling memorial to his son Alexander. Lcpl. Alexander S. Arredondo, USMC was killed on 08/25/04. He was 20 years and 20 days old. The memorial consists of a casket, poster- size photographs of Alex when he graduated from boot camp, before his second tour in Iraq, lying in state at his wake, and a photo of Alex with his younger brother Brian.
Saturday, September 15, 2007 consisted of first a rally, a march towards the capitol and then a die-in. Carlos pulled the memorial along the march route approaching the rotunda near the capitol building. Several of the marchers requested for him to speak about the memorial where a crowd gathered around him. After finishing, several people walked with Carlos as he pulled the memorial. Several pictures of Alex dressed in his blues were attached to the display.
As Carlos passed counter protesters, one man ripped a picture of Alex from the memorial. Carlos leaped on the man to retrieve the picture. It was at that point that approximately five others all began to attack Carlos by kicking him in the head, legs, stomach and back.
The Capitol police bicycle patrol then appeared to break up the fight. Several officers including a female officer were engaged in breaking up the fight and were able to stop any further injuries from occurring. Hannah Jones who was walking with Carlos was also assaulted.
A bystander named Ramesh witnessed the whole encounter and also retrieved the picture of Alex for Carlos. He was quite distressed at how he watched the men follow Carlos as he pulled the memorial, purposefully yelling epiphets and eventually taking Alex's photograph. Soon, an ambulance showed up as well as many concerned activists. The paramedics provided first aid to Carlos but he did not seek further medical attention. Carlos sustained bloody cuts on his shins. He also reported bruises all over his torso and head where he was kicked.
Now lets see what one 'Gold Star Mom', of the so many speaking out against these policies and War and their loss, has to say about these 'Supper Patriots?'. { apparently if one Sacrifices, looses sons and daughters or actually serves this country but opposes the 'dictator' they are less than human, according to the 'Supper Real Patriots?'!! }.
However the measly segment of our population that are still so willingly ill-informed and ignorant of the facts that they are grasping for straws.
At the recent “Support for our Troops” rally that was held by the Republican backed and funded Move America Forward and Gathering of Eagles (who I like to call the "Smattering of Pigeons") groups last Saturday where they had 1/100th of the numbers of the true “Support the Troops” (and the people of Iraq)rally and march that was sponsored by the ANSWER Coalition, we pro-peace people were even called “Communists” several times. I have asked people what they mean when they call me that so-last century epithet and they say: “Yeah, you hate America.” Well, for all of those who have eyes but refuse to see, and ears but refuse to hear, this is what Communist means: SNIP

On the day before the September '07 Washington 1st Amendment Right of Assembly we in the Countries Veterans ranks, as well as the Pro-Peace ranks, loss one of our own, David Cline, a tireless Advocate for Peace and Human Rights and a Leader who will be hard to replace because of his dedication to others and Country. He served what this Country is supposed to be till the end!
David, at After Downing Street, had this posted about another Vietnam Vet Peace Activist who no longer is with us.
About 50 feet from my husband the police had thrown a 57 year old Vietnam Vet down on the ground and proceeded to arrest him, unknowing they had crushed the man’s pacemaker and he had a heart attack on the balcony of the Capital building where they were holding the arrested protesters until busses came. The EMT’s were unable to revive him, resulting in the man’s death.
I have been unable to find out much more about this Veteran, so if anyone knows more please post.
Now on these so called 'Gathering of Eagles'. Many of them are not Veterans. Most come out of the ranks of 'Rolling Thunder', a once extremely proud organization started by Vietnam Veterans and with their main cause the plight of the brothers left behind, POWS. Anyone one can Ride or join the Memorial Day Memorials that Rolling Thunder leads at 'The Wall', for our fallen brothers and sisters, at 'Arlngton' and at the 'Pentagon', but what this organization has done, in recent years to grow it's supporting ranks is except anyone into it's membership on their words alone of being Veterans, no questions asked.
I say once because in recent years their leadership have become overly political, something that should Not exist in any Veterans Organization, for we served Country and Constitution, Not Political Ideologies, as the Oath we All took states!
Those who have joined this 'Gathering of Eagles' and are Veterans have every right to support policies, and even policies based on lies, but their Actions bring shame on themselves, the uniforms they once wore, their oath they once swore to, and the Whole Community of Us Veterans who have served this Country! They put out an Ugly Face of representing what a Veteran Should Not Be nor act like! They throw any Pride in Service to Country into the Gutter and Spit on their Fallen Brothers and Sisters as they claim They, and They Alone, Speak For The Fallen!!!!!
They Are A Disgrace, to Country, Themselves, Their Service, Their Brother and Sisters in Arms............!!
The following is an e-mail sent out by Displaced FilmsDavid Zeiger. David produced the Important Documentary Sir! No Sir! of which Dave Cline was a big part of, but let Dave Zeiger explain.
{ I've added a few links, that many may find interresting for abit of history and memory, especially the Vets and Activists of that time - js }
I am very sad to have to report the news that Dave Cline died this past weekend.
There are many wonderful tributes to Dave being written at Veterans For Peace{ You can also find tributes written at the Vietnam Veterans Against the War VVAW site. You will find a link for the Bill Davis Memorial Guestbook as well as the Dave Cline Memorial Guestbook. And if you're in the Jersey City, New Jersey area information on the memorial services, word is a concert is being planned for January in Honor of Dave, he enjoyed fun as well as a life of purpose - js }, and I would like to add some personal reflections on the part of his life with which I was deeply connected-the GI Movement against the Vietnam War { you can visit the GI Movement Archives at the Sir! No Sir! site for a trip down memory lane - js }. I hope you will indulge some nostalgic reminiscing here-there really is a point to it.
Let me say up front that without Dave Cline, Sir! No Sir! would not have been made.
I met Dave in the Spring of 1970, when I joined the staff of the Oleo Strut Coffeehouse outside Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas. My introduction to him and the GI Movement was riding in a broken down Chevy with Dave driving 120 mph through central Texas and me convinced I would never get out of there alive. I'm not sure anything defines Dave Cline better than that wild ride.
Dave and I were from different worlds. I was a middle class kid who came to my opposition to the war and growing radicalism intellectually. Dave, a working class kid from Buffalo, had joined the army and been wounded three times in Vietnam. It was his last wound, from an NLF soldier at point blank range, that changed everything. The soldier shattered Dave's knee, and Dave killed him with a bullet in the chest. His first realization was it was "pure luck" that he was alive and the other guy was dead. Then it hit him that there was no real difference between the two of them. Finally, the epiphany: It was the NLF soldier who was fighting for a just cause, while Dave and his comrades were fighting for a lie. In typical Dave Cline fashion he concluded in 1970, "I had to kill a revolutionary to become a revolutionary."
And revolutionaries we were. Right there in Killeen fucking Texas. In 1971-with literally thousands of GIs rebelling against the war and joining groups like the Black Panther Party-planning demonstrations by day and hotly debating the writings of Marx, Lenin and Mao by night was a very practical thing to do. And boy could Dave debate. Even in his sleep. It wasn't uncommon for him to jolt up from his bed at 2 am to continue a discussion from earlier that day, only to have no memory of it the next morning (Dave claimed he had even slept through a mortar attack in Vietnam).
And it was in that cauldron that we grew up. We were part of an unprecedented political upheaval, and we were alive in a way that is very rare-even though we could barely afford to eat two skimpy meals a day. Terry Davis, Dave's wife at the time, reminded me recently that one of her happiest moments was when Mark Lane donated a sack of potatoes to the staff.
Dave was intense, determined, and maddeningly stubborn. In 1970, the last thing a GI wanted to do after getting out of the army was live in a military town-even if he had been active in the movement. But here was Dave, during high points and low (which were most of the time), refusing to let go or give up. His connection with the GIs, whether they agreed with us or not, was deep and seamless-and it made the Oleo Strut something special. I can't begin to quantify what I learned from Dave those two years.
Then the war ended, and we all moved into other arenas, believing deeply in the possibility of revolution right here in the United States. For a while we stayed close, but through the years political disagreements developed, and in those heady times that meant a lot. By the end of the 70s and beginning of the 80s we weren't in contact any more. Those were very difficult times. In one of the last conversations I had with Dave back then he told me that every morning he woke up thinking "Oh fuck, another day!"
So when I started to make Sir! No Sir! Dave was the first person I wanted to talk to, but I had no idea what or whom I would find. What I found was the person so many have been writing about these last few days. Wracked by illness, he was extraordinarily energetic and eager to tell his story. The day of our interview, he had just come home from a grueling three-day VFP convention and was worried he wouldn't have much energy. We talked for four hours.
And here's the most important part. After decades of both political and personal conflicts, there are still some out there who would say "Don't talk to so-and-so, 'cause he's a yada-yada." Not only would Dave have none of that, he actively spoke against it. Dave knew the tremendous importance of telling the story of the GI Movement today, in this world and with this war. Because of him, several people are in the film alongside others they wouldn't have been in the same room with a few years ago. And he carried that spirit into the dozens of screenings and Q&As he participated in these past couple of years. He has played a tremendous role in making Sir! No Sir! the spark for today's GI Movement that it has been. And that's on top of his superhuman energy in building the work of Veterans for Peace.
In these last years of his life, I don't think Dave was saying "Oh fuck, another day!" anymore.
This has been a tough year. Along with Dave, two other veterans of the GI Movement who were integral parts of the film have also died-Oliver Hirsch of the Nine for Peace, and Terry Whitmore, who deserted to Sweden after watching federal troops invade his home town of Memphis as he lay wounded in a hospital bed in Japan. Along with Dave, their lives had deep historic meaning.
For more about Dave, and information on funeral and memorial plans, please go to Veterans For Peace
I had to share, especially to those of that time, my brother and sister veterans, those of us who served in- country 'Nam, and All the civilian activists, a sure minority than but extremely loud and dedicated to what this country meant to them and what it should be, not one of empty words but one of Example!
As it probably never wil be now!!
For it can't find the Courage to Hold Those Accountible for what they have done, All in the Name of the Ideologies of Politics, not certainly of Country!!
A leader, mentor, and friend passes away, 1947 - 2007
David Cline passed away early September 15, 2007. Most of you know that David was a giant in the Veteran’s anti-war and Peace movements. A national coordinator and long time member of Vietnam Veterans Against the War as well as former President of Veterans For Peace, David was a crucial part of the explosion in VFP’s growth and led us in our planning and actions as we have resisted the invasion and occupation of Iraq. David was a giant among people who motivated all of us to action by modeling leadership and providing inspiration.
David was my boss, mentor, friend and I loved him. He recruited me into VFP by simply being the person he was, a veteran working for peace. There are few people outside of my family whose death means such a loss to me personally. There are few in our nation whose loss means so much to our movement.
A quote David loved so much guided his thoughts and actions. He carried it in his wallet so that he could whip it out to motivate us at any time. Of course he also had it memorized.
"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what a people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." Frederick Douglass
David Cline we Salute You.

He fought to honor you.
He fought that others like you not suffer your fate.
He has joined you in death but his memory, like yours, lives on.
In memory of Dave, I am linking the four-part series Spearpoint that described the Veterans and Survivors March for Peace and Justice, from Mobile, AL to New Orleans, conducted in March 2006. Dave was the person who put that idea in our heads.
It's great to see such a crowd and so many groups represented. I especially want to thank Veterans for Peace. Dave Cline was a great leader and will be badly missed. We should all go out and do as much as he did with his admirable life.
Going through this Touching Tribute Diary Anti-war Vet Dave Cline Is Dead by lao hong han, that was posted last night, 9-15-07, and thankfully still sits in the recommend list, you will find some great reply's, from those who knew Dave and those who didn't, along with some links I have borrowed and placed here.
Adding to them a few pics, links to what Dave was passionately a part of, since his service in 'Nam, with hopefully giving all an idea of what this Man was all about.
The sponsoring organizations are the three metro area chapters of Veterans For Peace (New York City, Tappan Zee, and Northern New Jersey), the Clarence Fitch Chapter of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Actvities have been endorsed by Black Veterans for Social Justice, Veterans for Common Sense, Citizen Soldier, New York City Labor Against War, September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, and Gold Star Families For Peace.
That Dave was a member of. t's a moderated board so not sure if just anyone can read the posts, but there are a number of them there written by those who knew him best.
Much will be written, in the coming weeks, about Dave. Why, because in his quite way, except when leading cadence calls at Peace Rallies, or giving passionant speaches, Dave's dedication touched many in and out of the Veteran Communities Ranks. His name and memory, in history of true Patriots and Veterans, will be added to those who have passed on before him, for not only his dedication to this country but also his hard work and advocacy of the people of the country he and us invaded and served in, Vietnam, recognizing, as many of us did, how unjustified that conflict was. He gave back much to those we almost destroyed, and especially those who are still suffering from our sins, of the past, in this our present.
And his early veteran activism in VVAW calling for peace and an end to that conflict built and sold on lies
Just one of the many VVAW actions taken back then, when they liberated 'Lady Liberty'
And hung the U.S. Flag in the 'Distress' position from her crown, a message of the way many felt of the wrongs we had done, at that time, and the legacy of those wrongs live on, never resolved nor understood. Dec 26th 1970
David was also the long time President of Veterans For Peace right up till recently which told me, as I haven't seen him in awhile, that the health problems he suffered from, many from his service in Vietnam, were catching up to him.
David was the
VFP STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
We, having dutifully served our nation, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others
(a) Toward increasing public awareness of the costs of war. (b) To restrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations (c) To end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons (d) To seek justice for veterans and victims of war (e) To abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
To achieve these goals, members of Veterans For Peace pledge to use non-violent means and to maintain an organization that is both democratic and open with the understanding that all members are trusted to act in the best interests of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.
We urge all people who share this vision to join us.
He lived it and tried, as the rest of us do, to stand strong to those words!
Dave also gave back much to the people we once fought, especially the kids who even today are still being born, and living with, that which we condemned them to, the effects of defoliante contamiation, Agent Orange, and a few other colors of Weapons Of Mass Destruction! There isn't anything written at The VVAW Site as yet, but I'm sure there will be in the next couple of days as well as in their next publication of The Veteran, of which will be posted online.
Both those sites will be carrying Tributes by those who knew Dave very well, I'm sure!
You can find a very touching tribute at fellow Veteran Stan Goffs site Dave Cline…
Dave was former President of Veterans For Peace, founding leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and a founder of the Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign.
