Anyone who has gone through S.E.R.E. training, either before 'Nam service or probably since, as it concerned training in Counter Insurgency, understands 'Waterboarding', they experianced it, myself included.
When I went through the training in '70, in Coronado Calif., I already was having trouble breathing due to sinus actup, than the water soaked cloth followed by the slowly pouring water, during the survival part before the escape than the resistance.
When done you had two trainers, acting as the enemy, strapping you to the board, than one pouring the water over the cloth, the other, though you're only thinking of trying to breath, checking your pulse.
Bush Admin. Blocked Waterboarding Critic
Though it would last only seconds it felt like very long minutes.
Levin states what I thought:
After the experience, Levin told White House officials that even though he knew he wouldn't die, he found the experience terrifying and thought that it clearly simulated drowning.
At least one hoped these guys knew what they were doing and would stop before a dangerous situation developed, like heart stoppage from the trauma.
In training precautions are taking place, in reality those precautions are non existant!
And than this is offered:
According to retired Rear Adm. John Hutson, "There is no question this is torture -- this is a technique by which an individual is strapped to a board, elevated by his feet and either dunked into water or water poured over his face over a towel or a blanket."
In the video Brian Ross states what the CIA has reported "That this has only been done on three individuals in their custody".
That's bullshit, if it's in their bag of interrogation methods it's being done on many more than just three people, and probably more than once to each!
He also states, again what the CIA is saying, "That it isn't being done now, so where's the fuss", not in those exact words but you get the jist.
Again, that's probably bullshit, those idiots who think it really works are still doing it, and especially those being sent to countries we once condemned for practicing torture and human rights violations, and Actually still do Condemn!
It is also mentioned that because of it's use the government has been able to Stop further 'Criminal Terrorist' actions, funny how none of these have been reported, can't be because of it compromising our intelligence gathering they've already stated it was from 'Torturing'!
We no longer can Condemn others for 'Human Rights' Violations!
We Have Become The Leaders In These Violations, and These Techniques Don't Work!
When 'We' practice Torture 'We' put our Military and Society in Danger of like Retribution!
So please, when Americans are killed by others, don't Think or Say "Why do they hate us so!"
We have the answer of the present and what our government has done in our names, to others by our failed foreign policies, give us the answer for the past!
Below you'll find a Heartfelt suggestion on what George W Bush {boy do I hate caping his name} can do once he leaves office.
But first I have this to say:
Seen as how very few have the Moxie nor Understand of the Rule Of Law and Constitution of this Country, by not bringing Charges in an Impeachment Hearing in the House, we have an incompetent president and administration that looks to fill out the term of office and comfortably retire with their ill gotten gains!
Personally I want to see this Incompetent Criminal serving time, along with All who pull his strings and have Ruined this Countries reputation, ideology, national security, and oh so much more!
After leaving office, he could tend graves of fallen soldiers
October 31, 2007 BY RICHARD ROEPER Sun-Times Columnist
In a recent column I speculated on President Bush's post-White House plans. What should he do with himself?
Alice Collins of Oak Lawn has an idea.
"Three hundred and sixty-five days a year, in the wind and snow of winter and the heat and humidity of summer, let him tend to the graves of the almost 4,000 men and women who have given their lives in the debacle of Iraq. They honored their oaths, obeyed their commander-in-chief and sacrificed their lives of promise to a lying, unprincipled warmonger.
"He can begin at the grave of my grandson, Lcpl Jonathan W. Collins, killed in action on 8/8/2004."
Amen.
Marine Lance Cpl. Jonathan Collins of Crystal Lake was killed by enemy fire in the Al Anbar province of Iraq in the summer of 2004. He was 19.
Nineteen. You're supposed to be attending college and going to football games and meeting girls and dreaming about your future when you're 19.
Access tributes to Jonathan and other soldiers at Fallen Hero's Memorial. It's impossible to read the comments from friends and relatives and loved ones without feeling your heart get so heavy you can barely breathe.
Despite my feelings I would readily go along with the suggestion enclosed, in Honor to our Fallen and Their Families.
If they were sent to fight, they are too few. If they were sent to die, they are too many!
Is 'Funding' Really For Troops?
What Happened To Funding and Oversite For Military/Veteran Care In Previous Congresses?
Signing off on Conflict Budgets with No Oversite and No Questions!
Whatever this administration wanted They Got, and are Still getting even though the People Want the Complete Opposite and Spoke out for last election!
Well we have now been watching the Results of Their 'Tough On National Defense and Supporting The Troops'!
They sent our Military into these Wars of Choice, and showed a Total lack of Concern about our returning Military Personal. Speaking hollow words of 'Support'!
Their Choice, to follow the Failed Policies and Incompetent Corrupt Leadership!!
Two Tampa Bay veterans hospitals turn away critically ill patients for huge chunks of the year because of an overloaded veterans' health-care system.
They managed to take an already strained VA Health Care system, thanks to inaction for far too long, and not only strained it further but once again broke it, as it was after our last major debacle.
"The VA has never dealt with its capacity issues seriously," said Bill Geden, district director in west-central Florida for the Blinded Veterans Association. "They're underfunded, undermanned and overloaded."
With the Billions, 'rubber stamped', and spent creating another generation of major numbers of maimed Combat Veterans, not only are these recent Veterans not being cared for properly, as we've been finding out, but Veterans of past conflicts are being pushed aside by a Nation, who through their Representatives, shows the lack of caring and concern!
Now who can Speak of 'Strong on National Defense', it certainly isn't those who base their political ideology on those words, they can't even take care of those who serve to make Defense Strong!
Who can speak of 'Supporting The Troops', it certainly isn't those who's Representatives show their total lack of 'Support'!
I went way beyond Fed Up long ago.
I want any and all running for National Office against any, who still call themselves republicans, asking the Questions of why our returning Military and our Veterans are facing these Major Problems. But especially our returning Combat Troops at a time of two Major Theaters of Operations!
They beat the drums of war and gave our Military the Finger!

WASHINGTON - Mary Gallagher did not get a knock at the door from a military chaplain with news of her Marine husband's death in a faraway place. Instead, the Iraq war veteran committed suicide eight months after returning home.
The Nation's recent striking cover--already a classic--powerfully drives home the tragedy of Iraq. Featuring thumbnail photos of deceased US soldiers overlaid on the image of the man most responsible for their death, this graphic illustration of the cost of war was designed by Gene Case and Stephen Kling of Avenging Angels with an acknowledgment to Joe Wezorek.
