Robeson to weigh no-tolerance rule on guns in public housing
Aug 14, 2010 - The Robeson County Board of Commissioners on Monday will consider stricter language against firearms in the county's public housing code.
Under the amended rule, residents in subsidized housing units who are found with a gun in their homes would no longer be allowed to appeal the charges before being evicted, County Manage Ken Windley said.
The proposed amendment comes about two months after a resident, 60-year-old Janice Cargo, complained to commissioners about being threatened with a handgun by a downstairs neighbor at her apartment off Oxendine Circle. Continued
