Obama Admin: New Programs for Veteran Entrepreneurs

The Obama administration celebrates Veteran's Day with new programs for veteran entrepreneurs, particularly for women

November 14, 2010 - At one of the events commemorating Veterans Day, President Obama told servicemen and women "your country will be here for you" — especially if you're a veteran who might start a business and hire people.

To ignite the entrepreneurial spirit within returning vets, the Obama administration has put money into new and expanded programs that support and fund veteran entrepreneurship and have a new focus on women.

"As our nation continues to recover from the recession, our local communities need the economic boost these veteran-owned businesses will provide and the jobs they will create," said Hayley Meadvin, press secretary for the Small Business Administration, which is administering the efforts. {read rest}
