"Every man fights his own war," is a poignant line from the movie Jarhead. It states the truth that for many U.S. military personnel, their war continues long after they leave the battlefield.

Pastor Daniel Villalva, pastor of two Santa Fe Adventist churches and a former Marine, recently told his congregation that his personal battle is still on.

No, he's not carrying a rifle, his current war is in the form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Sleepless nights, arguments, chest congestion, experimental medications, a struggle to have meaningful relationships, all haunt his days and nights. His struggle, like those of so many returning troops, is a daily one. {read rest}
