What political party just loves saying they are and their herds love to wave their flags while doing same?
What political party do the media outlets, all of them, like to keep touting as while still saying the other major party isn't?
What political party rubber stamped the war costs, off the books and on the credit card, of these two present wars, Iraq now officially over, but not over, and Afghanistan turned into a Quagmire as they walked away from the main mission long back?
One of the reasons, we all now know and were saying back as the drums were beating, they wanted Iraq was for their oil, which is also why daddy bush gave the wink and nod to their once good friend Saddam as to Kuwait, but none of the coalition wanted to join us in taking out Saddam then. Another, as to my thinking, was to set up and maintain a real friendly government in Iraq with major bases in the heart of that oil rich region of the planet. That was also my thinking as to Vietnam even when I was there, not oil but on China's doorstep and very close to the once Soviet Union, which brings same as to Afghanistan into the picture in the present as well oil and gas lines through that landlocked country.
Those 'strong on national defense' meme's should have stopped long ago, especially by the media and especially at the start of the present decade with what that administration did vice what they should have done, with most of the world backing them, right after 9/11. Especially as they raised the need to spend billions more on that 'national defense' by creating even more hatreds towards us as our military destroyed Iraq and it's people and maintains in Afghanistan, with soldiers there trying to do the now impossible, actually do at least some of that main mission and the promises to the Afghans we would help them rebuild after decades of war.
I've caught a number of articles and reports over these past years as to the Militaries slow move into alternative energies and especially related to Nation Security, slowed down more because of these wars. But also slowed because of the continued obstruction of the country moving into alternatives that has existed now for some forty years, by the special interests within that really don't want to have their gravy chain of wealth taken away instead of them leading in the formation of a totally new industry and good paying jobs as well as cleaning up our environment. Thing about that last is this country started condemning China for using the same dirty energy needs as well as unregulated industries as they moved into a more capitalist system, and we still do. Even though China, and others, have taken what we started and now are rapidly moving those innovations forward, in China's case even building clean cities with the help of American companies.
This recent article I just caught led me to this quick post and that 'national security' phony meme.

JANUARY 27, 2012 - Off-Grid.net has written many stories over the years about the US military’s early-adoption of off-grid energy strategies. But some army and USAF bases are stymied by the big energy companies when it comes to readying themselves for a big outage caused by anything from solar storms to terrorist attacks.
A recent report from Nevada by Greenwire focuses on a base that carries out some of the Air Force’s most advanced work, including testing and flying drones.The 140 acres of solar panels at Nellis Air Force Base’s 14.2 megawatt array are useless when commercial power is out, thanks to a provision in the agreement with the local utility that lets NV Energy turn off the array if the grid power goes down.
It seems mad, but “ contractual and technical obstacles mean Nellis’ array won’t produce a watt of power if the grid goes down any time soon. The deal reveals the hurdles facing the military as it tries to tap renewable energy in its search for energy security..
NV Energy claim the key issue is safety. The utility says it does not want the renewable power plant feeding energy to the grid if its engineers are fixing lines. But that is a ruse used widely by energy companies around the world. A simple switch could solve that problem, and for large scale projects like this, a trusted operator would be required to throw it. read more>>>

And you can bet on whom within governments, federal and state as well as local, are side by side with these energy companies and the other special interests, throw in a few dems as well.
A few years after we sent troops into Iraq, already in Afghanistan and we apparently lost interest with that as well as anything related to actual Mission of after 9/11, some veterans of, joining with others, started this group that still exists though we don't hear much if anything about them.
In today's suppression of clean and alternative energy sources, known and R&D into possibly others and other ways of collecting and using, we have the heavily financed denial of climate change, let alone who or what's causing it, by by the same special interests groups including the energy companies and parroted by their supporters. You don't have to buy into that and can denie all you want to, but alas you better be thinking of coming generations as to that and while you're using them in other issues like the countries debt you greatly supported the rapid increase and left as those which you supported left office and power but not obstruction within.
Which political party blocked even more stimulus monies, and still say they didn't create jobs, they did and plenty, while those so called 'job creators' they think exist aren't creating jobs nor do they have any jobs plans?
While at least some of that recovery money went into alternative needs in a number of ways and a number of government agencies which are now and will continue to save us, the government, money. With much much more needed and saving even more.
You can obstruct, your so called bases can support that, as you all parrot out the 'denial of climate change' or that alternative energy needs won't produce jobs meme's, financed by your 'job creators' who aren't. Your hurting yourselves as well as the country and have been especially these last few years!!!
