Seeking to Cut $11 Billion from Veterans' Benefits

After the past decade plus now, and those prior to, of no demand they sacrifice, I doubt the American public even pays attention to these issues. Including some vets of certain political persuasions, as their representatives lay all blame on the VA in hearings and public speak instead of doing their jobs and those represented seem to want that. Haven't heard nary a one commenting on the Ryan budget, just support for as their support was to two wars and tax cuts at same time of the previous executive administration and their rubber stamping congresses, especially related to Veterans issues ignored then and obstructed now.

Scott's vets event an insult to veterans, says Rose

July 28, 2012 - In a historic march conducted 80 years ago today, 17,000 military veterans were joined by 26,000 other Americans in valid protest; instead of receiving promised pay and benefits, these American war heroes had only been given paper certificates.

In a complete slap in the face to that historic event, this evening Rep. Tim Scott gave local World War II veterans a paper certificate, and after he voted for a budget that cut $11 billion from veterans' benefits.

This apparent disrespect left congressional candidate Bobbie Rose with a bad taste in her mouth.

“I respect them, I honor their sacrifices and I hold them in highest esteem. I applaud any event held just to say ‘thank you’ to our bravest men and women,” says Rose, Scott’s Democratic challenger.

“But is this event enough to replace the benefits they’re about to lose?”

Rose refers to Scott’s support of the fiscal year budgetary bill recently proposed by the Republican Party, which substantially reduced funding for veterans’ benefits. read more>>>

Now the Ryan budget has been out there, with full support in those political quarters, for awhile now. That's some $11billion in VA cuts being demanded, across the VA budget. This is what just $1.8billion in Recovery Funds, slammed by same political ideologues as bad economic stimulus, for the decades long under funded VA, targeted to create jobs and in Government agencies save money from budgets, did just in the Veterans Administration. And this is just one of the projects completed and now coming online that did and will do just that.
