'Legitimate Rape!': Female Soldiers: Don't Ask, Don't Tell

The past couple of days have exploded, rightly so, with the raging blowback for a comment made by a political party member, already sitting in a national seat of representation and running for one in the other of the national legislative body, that defines just one of that whole parties main platforms, much more then just the Right of Choice by a women, much more as they go after women's health care providers and many other women's issues.

We could add many many more names and quotes from, as well as actions and sought legislation's, Federal and State, to the above, they all think alike in lockstep, when one speaks nary a word of condemnation is heard for hours afterwards or never and not just from their political representative partners but by those same political mindsets represented. The chosen VP candidate of that political party has even co-sponsored legislation directly pointed at women and not only their rights to choice but their and their doctors health decisions.

You might be asking "what does this all have to do with women soldiers and as military veterans", Everything! For the Military that serves is the country all that serve come from and from almost all walks of life. I say almost all walks because one, the wealthy elites and even the politicians sons and daughters serving is not very wide spread in any of the branches of the military, never has been, but a few actually do and take the orders sending them into our conflicts with the same duty to that the rest of us do and took an oath of. So when groups of citizens are being marginalized you have members of same serving the country in it's military and it's rubber stamped wars of choice, like the two present of this past decade plus. Why the very wealthy candidate, who follows the same political platform of those in the graphic above has five sons all were of age at the start of the present long occupations or came of during and it certainly doesn't look like even one sought to serve. He himself didn't join us who were sent to Vietnam but protested the protestors, including us soldiers and sailors and then military veterans who understood what the reality was and opposed but still served with our brothers and sisters, against that war of choice, showing his full support for but certainly not wanting to serve his country in.

Sexual Assaults on Female Soldiers: Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Mar. 08, 2010 - What does it tell us that female soldiers deployed overseas stop drinking water after 7 p.m. to reduce the odds of being raped if they have to use the bathroom at night? Or that a soldier who was assaulted when she went out for a cigarette was afraid to report it for fear she would be demoted — for having gone out without her weapon? Or that, as Representative Jane Harman puts it, "a female soldier in Iraq is more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire."

The fight over "Don't ask, don't tell" made headlines this winter as an issue of justice and history and the social evolution of our military institutions. We've heard much less about another set of hearings in the House Armed Services Committee. Maybe that's because too many commanders still don't ask, and too many victims still won't tell, about the levels of violence endured by women in uniform. read more>>>

This is an earlier article about 'sexual assaults' within the ranks and branches of our military. A search of same will bring up plenty more since and right up to today.

We've already known, us military veterans, what same political ideology thinks of us during and after the wars, examples like 'purple heart bandages' galore over the past decades and showing themselves again through these present conflicts and as to the women who serve very recently.

This is what that certain political ideology thinks about All issues concerning All women and his recent comment hasn't been the first to point that out. Especially as the same walked in lockstep in the federal legislative bodies, and mindset of many in the country, in rubber stamping the wants of the previous executive branch in funding two more wars, women serving in more and more ways then in earlier conflicts, off the books as the surplus was gone and deficits already started rising Before 9/11, put back onto the books by the present executive administration, and all borrowed. Along with the wars costs came tax cuts especially to the wealthy 'job creators', that 'job creating' worked well now didn't it, and still isn't. What also continues are the costs of these wars are still being added to the growing deficits daily, no one demanded the country sacrifice now a decade plus and that means a huge long running underfunding of the Nations Responsibility, the Veterans Administration, in caring for those who've served, women soldiers who've been sexually assaulted are just one of the many issues ignored by the country and especially their representatives in not upholding that responsibility

Ever watch or listen to a Congressional Hearing on issues about the Military or Veterans? You'll hear them say "what can we do to help?" and then, especially for same political ideology members of, start attacking the Members of the DoD or Veterans Administration who are called to testify especially the Secretaries of, less attack if of same political mindset. Instead of actually doing their jobs and find ways they can help and rally those they represent to help them do the jobs they're hired to do.

Elections are about laying out a resume of experience etc. as one applies for a job. Those already once or more hired have built added on past experience of the countries issues, most then run from or if questioned have pat answers as to why they supported these or didn't or just make up a flip flop.

What is galling and dangerous for the country is if those represented did same as to their resumes in seeking jobs they wouldn't get hired or if they somehow did wouldn't last long unless employer is of same mind, no matter the education or so called experience, it all would show itself rather quickly. Yet they will walk in lockstep behind a letter that defines what they still call a political ideology. In the case of women and women's issues that letter has forever changed from the (R) to a bold and extreme (T) as had the letter soup from GOP to GOTP. They will even vigorously defend, even slanders and liers, as even much of our press doesn't call them out, and cast those ballots to hire, not even caring what it does to them individually.
