At least according to this USA Today AP report:

One of the weapons recovered was a .233-caliber semiautomatic Bushmaster rifle with flash suppression, the same make and caliber gun used in the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn.

And knew exactly what he wanted to do as to the fires and the guns he wasn't supposed to have any of!

Man who shot 2 N.Y. firemen left note on killing plan

WEBSTER, N.Y. (AP) — December 25, 2012 - The ex-con who lured firefighters to their deaths in a blaze of gunfire left a typewritten note saying he wanted to burn down the neighborhood and "do what I like doing best, killing people," police said Tuesday.

Police Chief Gerald Pickering said Tuesday that 62-year-old William Spengler, who served 17 years in prison for the 1980 hammer slaying of his grandmother, armed himself with a revolver, a shotgun and a semiautomatic rifle before he set his house afire to lure first responders into a death trap before dawn on Christmas Eve.

Two firefighters were shot dead and two others are hospitalized. Spengler killed himself as seven houses burned around him Monday on a narrow spit of land along Lake Ontario.

Was this and the other guns purchased off the street, possibly stolen possibly not, from a legit owner who might have needed money, did he purchase them at a gun show in Rochester or near by. You can bet that's all being investigated, wonder if we'll ever know.

And so many others who've rushed out to buy as the prices for rose rapidly, there's a big market for the fetishes and deeply paranoid among us, a big market!

Also a huge return for Government no-bid contracts, all borrowed, that build the wants of some for huge investment returns:

Just think how much was made off all them no-bids for the past decade and two wars of choice!!

Wonder if he was a dues payin member of the NRA, ex-con or not, as they never ever, as a supposedly responsible gun organization, inform when those killed by guns, relatives, neighbors, spouses, kids...........the shooters were their members of the powerful lobby family that makes this country even less civil then other issues that have grown!
