Shutdown: Those Served Feeling Shame?

"If military action is worth our troops' blood, it should be worth our treasure, too" "not just in the abstract, but in the form of a specific ante by every American." -Andrew Rosenthal 10 Feb. 2013

Shutdown hurts benefits for heroes' grieving families

The congress, especially those leading this shutdown and denying voting in the House, were warned this, and much more, would happen! It didn't nor doesn't faze the peoples representatives nor those they lead, they're cheering the government shutdown, like they did the 'free wars' and results from, those funds still mostly borrowed, on and wanting to continue. Wait till the country defaults and see what happens.

Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., warned about ahead of time on Sept. 30. "There are other unthinkable outcomes of a government shutdown on our security. Family members, military members who die in combat would not receive death benefits during a shutdown," said Levin.

October 8, 2013 - Day 8 of the government shutdown was like 1-7: the president and speaker of the house made appearances, but neither saw even the shadow of a solution. At least none the other would accept.

In the meantime, nearly, 459,754 federal workers are furloughed -- their jobs are not getting done. And the cost to the economy is now estimated to be $8.5 billion.

And there are new casualties of this battle: the families of Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Four Americans killed in combat in Afghanistan this weekend are on their way home for the last time. Sgt. John Peters left a wife and 20-month-old son. read more>>>

RM: "We got a huge round of tax cuts in this country a few weeks before 9/11. Once 9/11 happened and we invaded Afghanistan, we kept the tax cuts anyway. How did we think we were going to pay for that war? Did we think it was free? Then, when we started a second simultaneous war in another country, we gave ourselves a second huge round of tax cuts. After that second war started. The wars, I guess, we thought would be free, don`t worry about it, civilians. Go about your business." 23 May 2013

The american public served doesn't feel any 'shame', they just like to use words to make others think they do, like actions and the words with flag waving patriotism!!!

Hypocrisy and easy lies, words used, are the norm in this society, while always there it was once it was once abhorred and those doing were quickly made to feel the guilt of doing, no more! And the growth of comes with the same in some forced on all religious ideology of a christian nation, apparently having no more fear of the god they say, words again, they believe in!

They love their wars of choice, the recent quickly abandoning the missions of why we sent our military into Afghanistan after 9/11, to be 'free'! Have yet to pay for either recent war, a decade plus and that's added to ignoring the issues of those sent, i.e. PTS for decades, Agent Orange for decades, Gulf War Syndrome for decades, many issues coming from these two like they came from our others to name just a very few. While having flag waving patriotic wars but grossly under funding it's responsibility the Veterans Administration, which costs much more to fix problems from that under funding during and after wars for the many years later especially. While one political ideology continues it's want to privatize for corporate profit that responsibility, just as they have with the wars, i.e. the rapid built up extremely costly private merc army, and our security privatizing that with the back round checks to work for the privatized government contractors and so much more!

"12 years also is a long time. We now have a lifetime responsibility to a generation of service members, veterans and their families." Dr. Jonathan Woodson 11 Sep. 2013: With 9/11 Came Lifetime Responsibility

"Why in 2009 were we still using paper?" VA Assistant Secretary Tommy Sowers "When we came in, there was no plan to change that; we've been operating on a six month wait for over a decade." 27 March 2013

WHY? GOOD QUESTION THOSE SERVED SHOULD ANSWER!

'Shame' for this, Not, as it to will be quickly forgotten after the spinning of blame towards everyone else but themselves, and especially led by the media and the politics that brought us the recent 'free' wars and very long occupations far from these shores and with multiple tours in!!

DeJa-Vu all over again! Seen this well over four decades now, it never changes, and there's No Shame!
