“This is our responsibility and the right thing to do for veterans"

Long ignored issues that started being addressed under the Shinseki VA administration, or totally denied issues like PTS existed, those doing so making comfortable livings writing and leading the political speak, especially conservative privatization wants, as legislation's were denied to help those suffering from so those served, poser patriots, needn't sacrifice and fund their responsibility, continue being addressed. Doing so with help from the entire Obama Executive administration on those issues the other Cabinet Secretaries of could give the VA aid in addressing.

V.A. Rules May Enable Benefits Long Denied to Vietnam-Era Veterans
SEPT. 3, 2014 - Thousands of Vietnam-era veterans barred from receiving benefits because of less-than-honorable discharges may be eligible for upgrades under a new set of guidelines released by the Defense Department on Wednesday.

The new rules offer the first guidance to military discharge review boards on how to address post-traumatic stress disorder. Many experts and veterans’ advocates assert that the disorder may have contributed to misconduct by veterans who were later kicked out of the military and stripped of benefits.

The guidelines call on the independent boards that review petitions from veterans seeking upgrades to give “liberal consideration” to any symptoms of PTSD now or at the time of the veterans’ discharge, and “special consideration” to findings of PTSD by the Veterans Affairs Department. In a statement, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said the guidelines were intended to create “fair and consistent results in these difficult cases.”

“This is our responsibility and the right thing to do for veterans,” said Mr. Hagel, a former Army infantry sergeant who was wounded in Vietnam. “This new guidance reflects our commitment to those who served our country during times of war many decades ago.” read more>>>

Sept. 3, 2014 – Hagel Issues Guidance for Veterans’ Discharge Upgrade Requests

Like all our wars, before and after Vietnam, many of the brothers and sisters that came back have passed on and many of those from the complications and added issues from the long ignored or denied issues, out of site out of the minds of those, poser patriots, served!

Sen. Bernie Sanders told Conservatives: “If you can’t afford to take care of your veterans, than don’t go war. These people are bearing the brunt of what war is about, We have a moral obligation to support them.” February, 26th, 2014
{Neither of these recent wars have yet been paid for, let alone the results from! As well as under deficits most of the, grossly under funded, VA budget is still borrowed thus added, problem creating, costs that shouldn't exist!}
